Electro Techno and Dance music sourced from the underground sounds of India and played against the backdrop of Alsisar Mahal, a 17th century palace will mark a new music and arts festival in Shekhawati.
Magnetic Fields to be held between December 13 and 15 at the Alsisar Mahal in the heritage village of Alsisar is one of the newest additions to the Indian music festival calendar with Charanjit Singh, the accidental pioneer of acid House, as the headliner. The lineup also boast of electro-dance on Shaa’ir + Func from Mumbai, producer Robot Koch from Berlin, Indian origin producer V.I.V.E.K from London who is one of the original pioneers of dubstep, popular drum and bass and electronic outfit Shiva Soundsystem (London) and UK based collective Engine-Earz featuring Orifice-Vulgatron. Other Indian talent at the festival would include Midival Punditz (delhi), trip-hop duo Sulk Station (Bangalore) and many other local folk performers.
The Fest at Royal Alsisar Mahal is divided into night and day sections, and for those unwilling to call it a day, there would be dawn breaking secret pop up parties throughout the three days festival. Each morning will begin with yoga sessions on the lawn. Through the day, there will be snatches of local culture to sample, from folk artistes to local craftsmen along with free workshops giving a peek into the region’s history and legacy. The food at the fest will be a contemporary take on the best of local cuisines.
