Indo-Russian Jewellers’ Meet in Jaipur

The famed capital of the Indian state of Rajasthan- Jaipur will host an Indo-Russian coloured gemstones buyer seller meet.

The meet, which will be held on December 8-11, 2013 at the city’s Hotel Lalit, aims to creating business opportunities for Indian Manufacturers and Russian traders and to explore the possibilities of trade in the gemstones category. The first India-Russia BSM will also provide a unique opportunity for manufacturers and traders to network as well as book orders for the coming year.

The meet in Jaipur will feature more than 15 select coloured gemstones and jewellery manufacturers from India and Russia.

Leading Indian exporters and manufacturers from Jaipur will participate in the coloured gems meet, which is also aimed at bringing in importers, large retail chains and wholesalers from Russia, to boost trade opportunities and establish networks within Russia.

Jaipur Forhex Fair – 2013


The handicraft exporters and buyers/ delegates interested in handicrafts from within the country and abroad shall experience the marvels of Handicrafts and explore the unique world of Handicrafts from Rajasthan. The Forhex Fair starting from August 15 to 18, 2013 at B.M Birla Auditorium open Ground shall serve as an opportunity in Jaipur to come closer to handicrafts fraternity and interact with the members, some of them are nationally renowned.

To add more grandeur in the Fair the committee would also organize Craft Vision on 16th August Night to honor the talents of the trade coupled with entertaining performances by renowned celebrity or group.

Art Gallery on Wheels.. soon in Jaipur

Soon, a van displaying artworks of well-known Rajasthani artists will be touring various cities of Rajasthan.

Often when someone wants to see a work by some well-known painter, a fancy art gallery is the only place where they can go. However, soon, artworks and masterpieces by famous Rajasthani artists will be on display… on a vehicle! Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy, in a bid to promote art in remote areas, has bought a van. This gallery-on-wheels will be equipped with modern facilities like an LCD projector and will travel to different cities and places where there are no art galleries, to host art exhibitions.

The van has a display area where almost 30 paintings can be displayed at a time, and the LCD projector is meant to screen art films and documentaries on artists. a wide collection of artworks by various artists will even be put up on display in other states as part of the exchange programme.

World’s first Silver Museum in Udaipur

Udaipur is popularly known as the  city of lakes’ and endearingly called the ‘Venice of East’, is a rich and unique repository of architectural and tangible heritage of not just Rajasthan and India but also of the world.

Adding more charm to Udaipur comes the world’s first silver museum that showcases the best silver exhibits  from royal family. Silver is held sacred in traditional Hindu beliefs, which associates the beautiful white metal with cool moon, surpassed only in importance by warm gold. The selection of unique items included in the silver gallery reflects the artistry of  silversmith and the beauty of this precious metal.

Unveiled by Arvind Singh Mewar, Chairman & Managing Trustee of Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) and 76th Custodian of the House of Mewar, the silver museum is filled with family heirlooms dating back to 743 AD.

The works on display illustrate the result of  age-old historical associations between the House of Mewar and both Rajput courts and Mughal establishment, as well as showcasing indigenous artisan techniques.

The nostalgic exhibit is displayed at the renowned Amar Mahal, which is located at the entrance of Zenana Mahal of City palace and said to be an inspiration for the Taj Mahal in Agra.
