Electro Techno Dance Music Festival at Alsisar- Rajasthan

Electro Techno and Dance music sourced from the underground sounds of India and played against the backdrop of Alsisar Mahal, a 17th century palace will mark a new music and arts festival in Shekhawati.

Magnetic Fields to be held between December 13 and 15 at the Alsisar Mahal in the heritage village of Alsisar is one of the newest additions to the Indian music festival calendar with Charanjit Singh, the accidental pioneer of acid House, as the headliner. The lineup also boast of electro-dance on Shaa’ir + Func from Mumbai, producer Robot Koch from Berlin, Indian origin producer V.I.V.E.K from London who is one of the original pioneers of dubstep, popular drum and bass and electronic outfit Shiva Soundsystem (London) and UK based collective Engine-Earz featuring Orifice-Vulgatron. Other Indian talent at the festival would include Midival Punditz (delhi), trip-hop duo Sulk Station (Bangalore) and many other local folk performers.






The Fest at Royal Alsisar Mahal is divided into night and day sections, and for those unwilling to call it a day, there would be dawn breaking secret pop up parties throughout the three days festival. Each morning will begin with yoga sessions on the lawn. Through the day, there will be snatches of local culture to sample, from folk artistes to local craftsmen along with free workshops giving a peek into the region’s history and legacy. The food at the fest will be a contemporary take on the best of local cuisines.

Boat Ride

The pristine Chambal River cuts through mazes of ravines and hills and leaves many sandy beaches throughout the 425 km long sanctuary.
The Chambal Safari is an attempt to acquaint visitors with a land that has retained its unique landscapes, rugged charm and rare wildlife.


Raj Niwas Palace , Dholpur is an ideal base for exploring the National Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary and surrounding areas, with excursions designed to appeal to everyone, from the serious birder to the wildlife enthusiasts. Set in 13 acres of garden, the palace grounds are full of peacock and birdlife that nip over from the National Chambal Sanctuary nearby.

National Cambal Wildlife Sanctuary is a 400 Km stretch of protected river for critically endangered Gharials & river dolphins. This vast area of sanctuary can be best explored on boats, providing spectacular opportunities to view the wildlife. A boat excursion to National Chambal Sanctuary offers many good viewpoints for photography of Gharials, shore birds and landscapes. The river safari is a unique experience, unlike anything on the Indian wildlife circuit. The boatman, are particularly skilled at cutting the boats engines, and manoeuvring as close to the birds and animals as possible, without disturbing them. A safari takes you on a four hour ride down the River Chambal, drifting past Gharials basking on the sandbanks, marsh crocodiles and turtles sunning themselves on the rocks  , while the dolphins, usually in pairs, splash in and out of the river as they come up for air.

The boatman and naturalists are all local residents that have been trained and given livelihood options that have them appreciate the National Chambal Sanctuary and provide the means of sustainable and mutually beneficial coexistence with the wildlife.

Ranakpur Festival: A Photo Blog

Ranakpur, a village located in Desuri tehsil near Sadri town in the Pali district of Rajasthan celebrated the grand festival of 2012 “The Ranakpur Festival” from 28th November to 01st December, 2012.  Similar to Abhaneri Festival in Jaipur, Unfortunately this festival also could not see the third day of celebration due to the sad demise of Ex Prime Minister of India- Mr. I.K.Gujral.

The Ranakpur festival comprised of holy chanting, cultural programmes and Classical music performances by Pt. Channu Lal Mishra Ji.

Pandit Chhannu Lal Mishra performed Classical Vocal and Bhajans at Sun Temple Ranakpur  on first day. Sun Temple, Ranakpur ready for Pandit Chhannu Lal Mishra ‘s performance of Classical Vocal and Bhajans under the starry sky .



Pandit Chhannulal Mishra is a Hindustani classical singer from Banaras, a noted exponent of the Kirana gharana of the Hindustani classical music and especially the Khayal and the ‘Purab Ang’ – Thumri. Here’s presenting the music maestro in different moods with his allies ..



Pandit Chhannu Lal Mishra being felicitated by the Rajasthan Tourism Department Officials. He absolutely mesmerized the audience with his spell binding performance.


Besides the evening performances,   at 8.00 o’clock in the morning a free jungle safari was also organized for the guests of Ranakpur Festival. Some of the other attractions of this festival were the food and craft bazaar where a great mixture of several cultures and amazing art & craft was seen.


Day kicked of with the Jungle safari with no further performances in the following day due to the Ex. Prime Minister’s Demise.

Lastly, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Art & Culture Ms Bina Kak and Principal Secretary Tourism Mr Rakesh Srivastava payed tribute to Late Mr I.K.Gujral on November 30th at Sun Temple, Ranakpur.


‘Giardino’- The New Italian Restaurant at Jai Mahal Hotel

The fans of traditional Italian food have one more thing to be happy about in Jaipur and it is the launch of the Giardino restaurant in Jai Mahal Palace Hotel, Jaipur.


Set in a red brick courtyard near the poolside, Giardino serves traditional Italian cuisine and one can binge on cheesy pizzas and scrumptious pastas while sipping exotic wines at this restaurant.  There is a wide selection of starters and mains and a great wine list to choose from. An open kitchen makes for a more interactive experience.

Giardino at Jai Mahal is open every evening from 07.00 pm to 11.00 pm to serve the flavorful traditional Italian Cuisine in a friendly ambiance and the hospitality is worth appreciating.

This is a fine Dining- expensive restaurant but is worth every penny!
