Rao Jodha ji’s Statue unveils on May12, 2012, the 554th Jodhpur Foundation Day

It gives us immense pride and pleasure to inform all our patrons, locals, tourists and travelers that the statue of Rao Jodha Ji – The founder of Jodhpur City, shall be unveiled at 08.00 a.m. on 12th May 2012, the 554th Jodhpur Foundation Day.

The efforts to install Rao Jodha Ji’s statue in Jodhpur have been going on since many years and on 542nd Jodhpur Foundation Day, H.H. Maharaja Gaj Singhji II had announced that the statue of Rao Jodhaji would be installed on the hill near Jaswant Thada. Now it would be unveiled on the 554th Jodhpur Foundation Day.

H.H. Maharaja Gaj Singhji II has dedicated this statue to the youth and future generation of Marwar-Jodhpur; and therefore the unveiling of the statue would be done by young students from various schools of Jodhpur.

Free Entry at Mehrangarh Museum on May12, 2012

This year once again on the account of Jodhpur Foundation Day, the admission to the Mehrangarh Museum shall be free for all tourists. The Audio Tour shall be free for International Tourists Only.

The timings of the Museum would be from 12.00 noon till 05.00 pm on Saturday i.e. 12th May 2012.

The Mehrangarh Museum Trust was settled in March,1972 by His Highness The Maharaja Gaj Singh II with the principal objective of setting up a world class museum in Jodhpur. It was intended that this museum eventually house and display the Maharaja’s substantial collections; of miniature paintings, portraits, books and manuscripts, weapons, textiles and tents, elephant howdahs and palanquins, and various objects’ d art.
